WTF are happening to Aussie
Rules Football players back home?

by Greg Davies aka cGt2099

While I love living in the United States, I have a lot of love and pride for my home country of Australia as well. There's a lot of things from back home that I miss - one of which includes our popular sports: cricket and footy. I try my best to keep up with the news from Australia about these sports, especially Aussie Rules Footy because it's a national sport totally unique to Australia.

But looking at my feed readers this week, I was shocked at some of the news that was coming out about the Footy players.

First, team members from North Melbourne got caught having a shag with a rubber chicken. Or rather, simulating it, as reported by AAP and News.com.au:

The four-minute video, posted on video sharing website YouTube, features the rubber chicken, always wearing a condom on its head and manoeuvred by an unidentifiable hand, seeming to sexually penetrate a real chicken carcass, The Age newspaper reports.

The real chicken, depicted as a woman, is hurled into a wall and run over by a van before the rubber chicken returns to again penetrate it, The Age said.

Parts of the film, titled The Adventures of Little Boris, were recorded in the club's locker room, including the locker of senior player Brady Rawlings, on the desk of a staff member, at a supermarket and in a hotel toilet.

WTF?

Here's the offending video:

As you can see, you don't see any of the footy players, and it looks like just a bunch of larrikins being creative and making something humorous. It's clearly a parody or sketch, and it amazes me that people got their knickers in a bloody twist over it. I mean, come on, seriously? Getting angry about footy players portraying sex stuff by a rubber chicken? Surely there's more important things to get worried about!

The Aussie media must have gotten the message, because, in an almost spectacular follow-up, members of the Fremantle Dockers were "allegedly" caught dressing up as members of the Ku Klux Klan.

Whoah, what? Athletic role models dressing up as a racist group? That DOES sound pretty serious. The initial report from News.com.au reads:

THE AFL has again been severely embarrassed, this time by revelations Fremantle players dressed up as members of the Ku Klux Klan and raided each others' houses.

Just as the AFL recovers from North Melbourne's "chickengate" affair, explosive comments were made by Fremantle player development manager Steve Malaxos while speaking on local Perth radio station SportFM [...who...] revealed another favourite prank, in which players dressed in Ku Klux Klan-like gear and raided each others' houses.

Here's the so-called KKK costumes:

Fremantle Dockers dressed up in Anonymous costumes for pranks

Clearly, the media got it wrong - AGAIN!

The costumes look nothing like traditional KKK garb; and the white robes look more like those of a Catholic priest about to perfom the Liturgy of the Eucharist during Sunday mass. On top of that, the costumes look more like that of "Anonymous" - in other words, similar to that of the Guy Fawkes get-up that /b/tards wear.

Again, it looks like young guys just having a laugh among mates. That's all it is.

The Australian media are not doing themselves or the AFL any favors by printing exaggerated sensationalisms about these young footy players.

So - to all footy players out there - keep playing pranks and having fun.

To the Aussie media? Go fuck yourselves!
